About Me

Don Brakeman

My work history began after graduating in 1951 from Grand Island Sr. Hight, Grand Island, Nebraska. I started in sales. Ten I worked in public relations which includes paint, hardware, automobiles, construction, art work, radio advertisement (sales & script), and acting in commercials and films. While pursuing my acting career, I worked as a bartender in 1969, at Binions Horseshoe Casino Las Vegas, Nevada. I worked at various casinos gaining experience in the bars, the restaurants, public relations, and scheduling. I also worked the payroll, people skills, and just having a lot of fun.

Then, I semi-retired on June 18, 2008. In 2010 I began doing theater productions at The Ice House Theater in Visalia, California, where I was awarded Special Mention for best supporting actor, as Judge Taylor, in Harper Lee's To Kill a Mocking Bird.  I was also awarded a "Lizzie" Award (Elizabeth Dobson award) for Outstanding Achievement Performance by an Actor in a major supporting role as Candy in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men.

In 2012, I returned to Las Vegas, Nevada, picked up an agent, and continued doing little theater. In the meantime, I worked in a film called "Lake Mead Drowned" produced and directed by Jessica Chandler and Eli Roth, of Camp Grey Productions. Last but not least, I was cast in three Shakespeare pieces as, MacBeth, in one Claudius in the second, King Lear in the third. All still in production and showing.

In closing, I would like to mention that I have been driving vehicles all my life and have never received a traffic violation. I have zero points on my record, as a DMV print out will prove to date. This concludes my work history to present date.
